Welcome to Cellar Door Books, home to the many artistic expressions of Tasha Tudor. At Cellar Door Books, we specialize in original art
by this 20th century American illustrator and all the forms her art has taken. Tasha Tudor was initially known as an illustrator of children’s books
beginning in 1938. She also began painting an annual series of Christmas cards early in her career. By 1960 she was creating pictures for
classics like The Secret Garden. Her work branched into books for adults with Mary Mason Campbell’s cookbook and country almanac. When Tudor
partnered with Beth Mathers in 1988, their Indiana company Jenny Wren Press catapulted Tudor into a new age of enthusiasts. These new-found
devotees included many customers in Japan, France, Sweden and other countries. Tudor inspired her two daughters to create books of their own.
Her paintings appear as art prints, porcelain statuary and boxes, and a wide selection of greeting cards.
Cellar Door Books is proud to have brought The Golden Key back to Tudor’s adoring public. We recently sponsored the cleaning and digitization of
this little known 1955 motion picture that records the fantastic Wedding in the Land of Dolls as well as showing Tudor’ Ginger and Pickles shop
and her famous dollhouse. We plan to keep this DVD format available at a reasonable price for a good long time.
We have been selling books for 37 years. We look forward to making many new friends this year and sharing our cumulative knowledge of Tasha
Tudor’s work with you.
